I just received my first of the new Head MXG frames, the MXG 5. Has anyone strung one of these yet? My current stringing machine is a Prince 5000. With the new throat bridge configuration, do these frames require any special mounting procedures? The normal mounting spots on my machine just look a bit awkward/off.

I have not yet strung one, but the stringing instructions (link below) do not indicate any special mounting procedures.

I strung a Head Crossbow just yesterday, and even the Crossbow, with its “unattached” throat piece, requires an adapter piece just at the 12 o’clock position, and only because of the shape of the beam. The separate throat piece does not require any special mounting procedure.

Compared to stringing a Crossbow, stringing an MXG seems to be even more uncomplicated. The MXG throatpiece is made from a different material from the rest of the frame but looks to actually be attached to the rest of the frame, while the Crossbow throatpiece is not attached, just “floating.”
