Stringing a racquet yesterday and had a load spreader snap in 1/2, and certainly made a loud bang!
woke me up for sure. I found 1/2 of it, but who knows where the other 1/2 ended up as they flew around the room when it snapped.
I typically use a spreader at the 12 o’clock position with racquets that have convex surface like some Prince racquets as it keeps the billiard more secure to the racquet to prevent slipping, and it spreads out the force.
fortunately customers racquet is fine, but makes me thing twice about using a spreader again.
I was wondering if anyone else had this happen?
you would think manuf. would use a plastic that can tolerate compressive forces.

What kind of load spreader was it James? I have the green one from Prince (older) but don’t use it much. My preference is the one from Yonex. I’ve never had any problem with those and I’ve never had a load spreader snap like that.

I hope the pictures post, as I went to a different picture posting site.
One pic is entire spreader, other is 1/2 of the broken one. I have no idea where the other 1/2 flew to, but it made a loud bang, certainly woke me up when it happened.
