I just finished Basic Stringing 101. I’ve been stringing for quite a while, but I can tell you I learned a lot taking this course. There are so many suggestions and different ways to accomplish and complete a racquet that really helps. I will definitely keep going back to review the videos. Thanks for all you do for us stringers.

Excellent course! A true soup-to-nuts magnum opus on all things stringing and stringing-related topics. It really brought all the aspects of string, stringing, rackets, and racket customization together in a modularized format that was easy to follow and comprehend. Well done!

The Significance of Professional Training

IART firmly believes that professional training is the foundation for becoming the best racquet technician possible. This philosophy has been proven over 10 years of hosting our annual training symposium, where hands-on training and skill development have always been the top priorities. Year after year, attendees have shared how the experience has elevated their racquet service skills and greatly increased their confidence. A decade of IART training symposiums has consistently reinforced this approach.

In professional racquet stringing, proper training—not certification—is what builds real expertise and credibility. Certification may provide recognition, but very few, if any, employers require it, and it holds little weight compared to verifiable training from a reputable organization. If your interest is in stringing at the tour level, the reality is that opportunities for this are extremely limited, with selection based on years of experience, proven technical skill, and strong teamwork—not certificates. Most racquet technicians will run their own business or work in tennis-related industries, where hands-on instruction in advanced techniques, precision, and problem-solving is what truly sets them apart. At IART, our structured curriculum, from beginner to advanced stringing plus a dedicated business course, delivers the real-world knowledge and professional standards that certification alone cannot provide.

Our online stringing curriculum

IART is the first and only organization to offer a structured curriculum that covers every stage of racquet stringing education—from the raw beginner to the advanced professional. This curriculum is uniquely designed to not only develop technical mastery but also to prepare individuals who wish to establish and operate their own tennis business.

Since it began with the IART Symposium (2007-2016), the organization has led the way in professional training for racquet stringers. That commitment to education has evolved into a comprehensive series of online courses: Basic Tennis Stringing 101, which introduces the fundamentals of racquet service; Advanced Stringing 201, which builds advanced techniques and precision skills; and Tennis Business 101, which addresses the practical requirements of successfully running a tennis business.

This combination of technical and business training sets IART apart as the only program offering a complete and structured educational pathway for racquet technicians.
