TIM STRAWN
Owner & Executive Director, IART
With over three decades of experience, Tim is a seasoned professional in the field of racquet technology. He brings a wealth of expertise from his background as a teaching professional accredited by both the USPTA (now RSPA) and PTR. From 2000 to 2008, Tim served as a professional racquet technician on the official stringing teams at prestigious ATP/WTA events such as Wimbledon, the U.S. Open, and the Sony Ericsson Open in Miami. He was an original member of the inaugural Wilson Tour Services stringing team, the official stringing team of the U.S. Open, where he contributed from 2006 to 2008.
In 2002, Tim launched the renowned website www.grandslamstringers.com, which has since evolved into the International Alliance of Racquet Technicians™ (IART) which serves a global community of aspiring racquet technicians of all levels. He is the visionary behind a training event, the first of it’s kind, the IART Racquet Stringers Symposium (formerly the GSS symposium). This professional training event catered to racquet technicians of all proficiency levels, which enjoyed successful runs from 2007 to 2016. At the time, no other organization was offering anything remotely close to what Strawn brought to life for the industry in 2007. The introduction of the symposium cemented Strawn’s visionary prowess and his personal commitment to lifting racquet technicians to new heights around the globe. Today, Tim remains dedicated to providing relevant content and valuable tools for the members of IART and the global stringing community.
