Coaching rules are about to change in tennis and without a doubt, there are going to be opinions floating around long after it starts. Should coaching be opened up in professional tennis? Many claim that it’s been going on for a long time and for that reason, they should just go ahead and legalize it. Right or wrong we’re about to witness a change that may have a tremendous impact on the sport of tennis.

It should be you against your opponent, not you and your coach against them and theirs.
I find myself in the amazing position of agreeing with Nick Kyrgios, who made the great point of how to handle a player with a coach playing against one without (and many can’t afford to travel with one).
Tennis is unique in that it’s just you and your opponent. My feeling is that the players get all the coaching they need prior to a match and once the first serve is in play, it’s on their shoulders alone. It’s something that’s special about tennis so I’m personally in favor of leaving it just the way it is!
