The match that changed tennis history
In 1973, Billy Jean King and Bobby Riggs played a match of the sexes. Rigss was clearly a chauvinist and used every trick he could to intimidate King, but she wasn’t going to be fooled. She had nerves of steel, not to mention she was one tough competitor on the tennis court, as Riggs would find out the hard way. I remember watching this match on television with my mother and we were both rooting for BJK, and she didn’t disappoint. Check out a video recap of the match below.

The thing I remember the most was seeing the players carried onto the court like royalty and BJK winning the match, of course!
It was also a special US Open this year, as we celebrated the 50th anniversary of Billie Jean King’s fight for equality!
