Gracelyne OriginalTim Strawn
The “Original” is Gracelyne’s first tennis racquet. This racquet varies from the Pro304, most notably in its overall weight at 304.8g/10.75oz strung. That’s enough heft in this frame to satisfy the needs of an accomplished player, a clear difference from the Pro304.
The frame’s torsional stability (15) tops the 304 (13), a marked improvement. Half volleys were a breeze for our tester, providing more success at lifting the ball over the net.
The design is reminiscent of the Babolat Aero Pro but that’s where the similarities end. Like the Pro304, the Original has a nice soft flex, registering a low 52 on the Babolat RDC. The flat black matte finish accented by eye catching light blue rings around the hoop are appealing. Aero Pro users are used to more weight so the Gracelyne Original may be appealing to players looking for a lighter racquet.
