Xuron Tools
I’ve talked a lot over the years about how good Xuron tools are for racquet stringers, like the 9100 string clippers that I’ve used for many years. These cutters clip the string with a slight offset in the jaws. The reason they work so well for stringing is that they were designed to be used in the Micro Electronics industry where a clean cut with no protruding tip to the side is mandatory. We sometimes see where stringers are using a standard pair of side cutters (see photo left) that they buy at a local hardware store or home improvement center. This type of cutter smashes the string as it makes the cut and leaves two distinguishable tips on both sides of the cut. The Xuron cutters make a nice clean cut through the string leaving a very professional look to the knot tails and are a much better choice to include in your machine tool tray.
Another great Xuron tool to have in your tool tray is the Xuron 450BN needle-nose pliers. We are currently working with a Xuron distributor to get these pliers ordered with the serrated jaws added. This gives the tool much greater grabbing power and makes them the perfect tool to use when just a small tip of the string is protruding through the grommet. A normal pair of needle nose pliers will not grab ahold of that tiny piece of string whereas the Xuron 450BN will get the job done.
